Tierra del Oro in Rio Rancho, NM

Tierra del Oro is a planned development in Rio Rancho's Broadmoor corridor, laid out on about 50 acres. Cardiff Avenue NE bounds it on the south and Hedingham Avenue NE on the north, with Broadmoor Boulevard NE along the east side and Edinburgh Street NE along the west; Havencrest Avenue NE runs through the middle. The city created a public improvement district here in 2019 to finance sewer, water and drainage infrastructure, and single-family construction has continued since. Hakes Brothers is the principal builder. A homeowners association maintains the common areas and neighborhood roads, and the streets are open rather than gated.

The public improvement district shaped the neighborhood as it stands. Rio Rancho approved it in 2019 to pay for sanitary sewer, water and drainage work along with the landscaping and grading that went with it. The district's plan set aside ground for townhomes and multifamily buildings beside the single-family lots, plus roughly ten acres for commercial use at the Broadmoor end.

The Tierra Del Oro Homeowners Association handles the community side and works with Associated Asset Management. Dues are billed monthly and go toward the common areas and road maintenance.

The floor plans lean Mediterranean and Tuscan on the exterior, and the interiors offer tray ceilings, stacking doors onto the back patio and guest suites among the options.

The Rio Rancho Aquatic Center and the Events Center are both a short drive off, as are Cottonwood Mall and two hospitals, Presbyterian Rust Medical Center and UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center.
