Mountain Hawk in Rio Rancho, NM

Mountain Hawk, also recorded as Mountain Hawk Estates and Hawk Site, is a master-planned area on the northern edge of Rio Rancho, on the west side of U.S. 550. The city adopted its master plan in 2001 and amended it in December 2019, setting residential blocks alongside land held for employment and business use and half a dozen park and open space areas. Construction followed the amendment, with production builders including D.R. Horton and Twilight Homes working there. Homes are single-family throughout, and a single master association maintains the shared ground.

Dues run to the Hawk Site Master Association, managed by Clean Slate Properties, and cover the common areas and maintenance of the neighborhood roads. A private park and a dog park sit inside the community, and the master plan reserves further park and open space tracts along with two detention pond sites.
