Altamont Community
Altamont sits in the Northeast Heights, south of Montgomery and roughly between San Mateo and Louisiana. It's one of the few Albuquerque subdivisions where the builder's name still moves the needle. Nearly all of the Altamont homes for sale on this page were put up by Mossman-Gladden between the late 1950s and the early 1960s, and that matters more than it sounds. Fred Mossman built over 7,500 houses in this city from the late forties into the early eighties, per UNM's Albuquerque Modernism project. Altamont was the first of the big ones.
